At Ben's Place lawn care
Lawn app Privacy Policy
Your lawn records stay in your browser. The At Ben's Place lawn-care app has no user accounts, no cloud sync and no server database for your lawn records. Optional weather requests and ordinary website delivery are explained below.
Scope and contact
This policy covers the free At Ben's Place lawn-care app at app.atbensplace.com. Ben at At Ben's Place, Perth, Western Australia, operates it. Privacy questions: [email protected].
What stays on your device
The app saves lawn details, areas, grass types, groups, application logs, schedules, products, favourites and settings in your browser's local storage. If weather is enabled, the selected place, its coordinates and cached weather data are stored there too. The app does not send these lawn records anywhere, create an online account or automatically synchronise them between devices.
The app also uses browser caching, including a service worker, to keep app files available offline. Local storage and cached files remain subject to your browser's storage and clearing behaviour.
Optional weather and place search
Weather is optional. When you search for a town or place, the search text goes directly from your browser to Open-Meteo's geocoding service. Selecting a result enables weather requests using that place's latitude and longitude. Weather requests can refresh when you reopen the app; they do not send your lawn logs or product records.
Open-Meteo also receives normal connection information, such as your IP address, when your browser makes those requests. Its handling is governed by its terms and privacy information. You can use the lawn app without selecting a weather location. This is why we do not claim that absolutely no information ever leaves your device.
Hosting and tracking
Cloudflare delivers the app and this website. Requests to load or update files involve network information such as IP address and request details, which Cloudflare may process for delivery and security under its Privacy Policy. That is separate from your locally stored lawn records.
The lawn app does not include advertising trackers or analytics scripts. It does not sell your lawn records. Links to other websites are subject to those websites' own policies.
Backups, exports and deletion
Use Settings > Export All Data to download a backup file. Exporting creates a file on your device; the app does not upload that backup to Ben. If you share it or save it with a cloud provider, you choose who receives it. Keep backups somewhere safe.
Use Settings > Reset all data to remove the app's saved records from that browser. Clearing the site's browser storage also removes local records; clearing site data can remove offline caches too. These actions do not delete backup files you have already exported or copies you have shared. Each browser and device has its own storage.
There is no fixed expiry for your local records. They remain until you remove them or the browser clears them. Ben cannot retrieve, correct or erase records that exist only in your browser. Removing an installed app may not clear its browser storage, so use the reset or browser site-data controls when deletion is intended.
If you contact Ben
If you email a question, bug report or backup file, the information you choose to send will leave your device and be available to Ben and the email services handling it. Send only what is needed, and avoid including sensitive information. Contact [email protected] about information you have supplied directly.
Changes
This policy will be updated if the app's data handling changes. The date above identifies the latest revision.
